Buick and Amazon Alexa will partner up to bring Amazon Alexa support to the 2020 Buick Encore GX. The Encore GX, a new addition to the Buick lineup slotting between the Encore and Envision, will be the first GM model to offer Amazon Alexa.
Amazon Alexa is Amazon’s virtual assistant. Alexa allows you to access your Amazon content with intuitive voice controls. Using natural speech, you can command Alexa to play music, audiobooks, and podcasts from your library, read your to-do list to you, and even place orders.
Alexa support is just one of many technologies you can expect to find on the 2020 Encore GX, which is set to debut sometime in early 2020. This mid-size crossover will come with a standard suite of driver-assist features, plus an optional rear-camera mirror and a 360-degree camera.
In addition to its larger size, the Encore GX will also have a more powerful engine than the Encore. It’s predicted that the Encore GX will come with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, along with standard front-wheel drive and optional all-wheel drive, and an automatic transmission.
Buick hasn’t announced much more about the upcoming Encore GX, besides that it will sit on a longer wheelbase than the Encore and will probably have a starting price somewhere between the Encore and the Envision.
When the Encore GX rolls onto dealership lots, you’ll be able to take it for a spin at Union Park Buick GMC.
